This event is part of SIREN23 in Derry.
Join textile artist, Lyndsey McDougall, in exploring the art of repair through an introduction to visible mending techniques. Throughout the workshop, foundational mending techniques will be demonstrated and you'll have the opportunity to learn and practise these stitches yourself.
The aim of the workshop is to demonstrate how the act of mending our favourite textile objects encourages a sense of relaxation, while also providing an opportunity to recycle, up-cycle and establish sustainable textile consumerism.
This is a hand-stitch workshop. No previous experience is required and all tools and materials will be provided.
