Cyanotype Family Workshop

Art & Science
Cyanotype Family Workshop
Event Description

Discover the magical technique of early photography, as used by the pioneering 19th Century botanical artist, photographer and scientist, Anna Atkins - the first person to illustrate a book with photographic images.

In this fun workshop for families, you’ll get the chance to combine art and science by using plants from the Hillsborough Castle Gardens to make your very own cyanotype print to take home. Just like Anna, you can have fun creating photographic blueprints while also finding out more about the science behind the artistic process.

Places are strictly limited and tickets will be given out 30 minutes before each session begins. Please queue at the blackboard in the stable yard.

Free with a Hillsborough Castle Gardens Ticket.
