Event Description
Using Virtual Reality in Sports-related concussion
We know that elite athletes are physically very fit to perform at the highest level and that the brain has to be fit and reactive - especially in fast, high-intensity sports like ice hockey. In fact, it’s our brain’s fitness that’s affected when we suffer a concussion.
Concussions have made media headlines more recently with the potential longer-term effects of repetitive concussions on brain function. Hosted by Ulster University, this event offers you the chance to check your own brain fitness in four key areas related to elite sport through a series of Virtual Reality (VR) tests. These include challenging your balance, decision making, hand-eye coordination and memory.
Afterwards, you’ll receive a score that you can compare to the Belfast Giants squad!
