Apis Mellifera, The Honey Bee - An Exhibition by Raymond Watson
Event Description

Belfast-born artist Raymond Watson’s exhibition reflects on the importance of bees to mankind and life on earth.

Raymond has been studying the behaviour of the bees in his own apiary for many years. He has created a show that subsequently explores the life of the bees in many forms - from sculpture and soundscapes to paint.

Bronze casts have been created using the insides of living bee hives…Soundscapes have been composed using original recordings of bee sounds from inside and outside the hives. Raymond is best known for Hands of History, for which he made bronze casts of the hands of people involved in the peace process in Northern Ireland, including John Hume, David Trimble, John Hume, Monica McWilliams, Mo Mowlam and Tony Blair.

An Artist Talk will be taking place on Thursday 23rd February at 7:00pm
