This talk examines the stories of some notable figures from history, all from the local area. Learn about inventors, writers, actors, sculptors, educators, soldiers, clockmakers and shipbuilders, naturalists, horticulturalists, judges, industrialists and others. Some are well-known figures but others, like the Glenarm doctor writing home from the wild shores of Africa in the early 1800s, are all but forgotten. The talk draws together their stories, finds commons threads and explores their lives and times in what will be an enthralling journey through history.
This is a free event, however places are limited and must be booked in advance. Light refreshments provided.
